Professor Dr. Jutta Günther, President of the University of Bremen and Chairwoman of the U Bremen Research Alliance, and Professor Dr. Rolf Drechsler, Dean of Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Bremen, Head of the Research Department Cyber-Physical Systems of DFKI and Co-Speaker of the UBRA lead project "Research Data Management and Data Science", met the Brazilian delegation for cooperation talks concerning a jointly planned double degree master’s program. The exchange is to be further intensified in the future by initiating a cooperation agreement between the University of Bremen and SENAI CIMATEC, including the DFKI. SENAI CIMATEC has been cooperating with the DFKI within the scope of research projects, such as the Flatfish-Projekt (https://robotik.dfki-bremen.de/en/research/projects/flatfish). Furthermore, the Brazilian Institute of Robotics (now "robotics & autonomous system competence center - RASC") is based on the model of the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) (https://robotik.dfki-bremen.de/en/about-us/partner-institutes).
The Manufacturing and Technology Integrated Campus SENAI CIMATEC was inaugurated in March of 2002 and it is one of the most advanced centers for education, technology and innovation in the country. Supported by a staff of over 650 members, it hosts a Technical School, a Higher Education School and a Technology Center, all cooperating in a four-building structure of more than 35.000m².
