Research Data Day on June 18, 2024, offers researchers, as well as administrative and technical professionals, insights into best practices and current challenges in handling research data. Participants have the opportunity to exchange ideas with data experts and colleagues from various disciplines. The day’s program (9:00 – 15:00) will be held on the University of Bremen campus, followed by an evening event (starting at 17:30) at the "House of Science." Research Data Day is organized by the member institutions of the U Bremen Research Alliance. Participation in Research Data Day is free of charge.
The day's program will take place on campus of the University of Bremen in the form of information booths, workshops, and lectures.
At the “Glashalle” of the University of Bremen, information booths from Bremen initiatives in research data management and data science will provide insights into innovative projects, tools, and best practices shaping the future of data-driven research.
At the State and University Library Bremen (SuUB), data experts will offer interactive lectures and workshops aimed at enhancing skills and knowledge in handling and analyzing research data. Participants will gain practical insights into strategies for optimizing their research data management practices. The lectures and workshops will be conducted in English.
The evening event, titled "Using Data Responsibly – Research Data for Society," will be held at the "Haus der Wissenschaft". During this event, data experts and representatives from academia and industry will discuss the ethical and societal implications of using research data within the scope of lectures and a dynamic panel discussion. Guests will be welcomed by Prof. Dr. Jutta Günther, President of the University of Bremen and Chairwoman of the U Bremen Research Alliance. The evening event will be moderated by Felix Krömer from Radio Bremen. The event will be conducted in German, and seating is limited. Registration by June 7, 2024, is requested.
