Research on Life-Extending AI

The earlier a disease is detected, the better it can be treated. Meanwhile, digital devices and technologies are providing more and more health-related information. Several member institutions
of the U Bremen Research Alliance are involved in a research project that aims to develop AI methods for analyzing various data sources to predict the onset of diseases over the long term.

Shaping the Future of Robotics Responsibly

Traditional AI generates content in the digital realm; when combined with robots, it operates in the real world. The research in Bremen focuses on designing autonomous systems that are safe, reliable, and
precise. A conversation on responsible robotics with two experts from member institutions of the U Bremen Research Alliance: Dr. Sirko Straube from the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) and Professor Nico Hochgeschwender from the University of Bremen.

Why AI Needs More Diversity

Artificial intelligence is not a neutral, objective technology. The people who develop it and the data that is used for that shape the systems’ view of the world – and the access to them. Researchers in Bremen are investigating how to improve diversity and inclusion and, by extension, the quality and sustainability of AI systems.
