The first Work Programs within the the European Research Framework Program "Horizon Europe" are expected to be published in April 2021. On January 29, 2021, a first information event was held within the U Bremen Research Alliance. The format, organized by the University of Bremen in cooperation with the National Contact Point for Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (NKS MSC) and the National Contact Point European Research Council (NKS ERC), was well attended. "The interest was overwhelming," summarizes Dr. Andrea Gottlieb from the Research Support Unit of the University of Bremen. "We had almost 600 registrations - not only from Bremen - and were of course willing to open our event to all interested persons.
The referees provided information on the most important aspects of the calls for Marie Skłodowska Curie Individual Grants (MSCA Individual Grants) and the ERC funding lines. In addition, Dr. Cleis Santos (University of Bremen; Department of Production Engineering) and Prof.Dr. Alessio Rovere (MARUM - Center for Marine Environmental Sciences at the University of Bremen), two successful applicants from the last research framework program, reported on their experiences. The variety of questions from the audience in the Q&A sessions shows how much interest there is in these EU funding opportunities and we are happy to support applications from researchers working at institutions in Bremen," comments by Silke Reinold from the Research Support Unit of the University of Bremen.
