Horizon Europe is the European Union’s central research and innovation program. It brings together the European funding instruments for research and innovation, runs from 2021 to 2027, and has a budget of around €95 billion. Its goal is to strengthen a knowledge- and innovation-based society, expand Europe’s competitiveness, and help address major societal challenges.
Funding is available for individual projects, international collaborative projects, research infrastructures, and innovation-oriented projects, among others. Horizon Europe thus offers opportunities for researchers from a wide range of disciplines and career stages.
Together with the University of Bremen’s Research Funding Advisory Service, we regularly offer workshops and information events that are open free of charge to researchers and staff at UBRA member institutions.
The events provide guidance on the European funding system, share information about current funding opportunities, and offer practical knowledge for preparing proposals. They also provide space for specific questions, exchange, and networking. In this way, project ideas are refined at an early stage, expertise within the Bremen research network is pooled, and joint European research projects are strengthened.
